News from the Celtic LeagueFollowing the arrests of two Irish parliamentarians this week for refusing to pay a fine relating to their breach of security at Shannon Airport in 2014, the General Secretary (GS) of the Celtic League has issued a statement.Mick Wallace TD and Clare Daly TD were arrested on Wednesday 9th December and taken to Limerick prison, but released two hours later at the discretion of the prison governor. Mr Wallace TD told supporters as he approached the prison ?It won?t be as bad for me as those in Syria.? Even though both Mr Wallace and Ms Daly have been released they can still be rearrested at a later date.The GS, Rhisiart Tal-e-bot, issued the following statement:?The Celtic League condemns the arrest and detention of Mick Wallace TD and Clare Daly TD yesterday for their refusal to pay fines for breaching security at Shannon Airport in 2014.
