There has been a further setback to attempts to get the Justice Lowell Goddard inquiry into child sexual abuse in England and Wales to include investigation of the Kincora sex abuse scandal in N. Ireland (links): (voir le site) Kincora home in Belfast dubbed the house of horrors was alleged to have been used by the UK intelligence services during the troubles and there have been repeated assertions that the British Army and Intelligence Services used the paedophile network centred on the home for their own purposes. The home is to be the subject of an inquiry by the HIA (Historical Institutional Abuse) in N Ireland but the HIA does not have the power to compel witnesses or obtain evidence given to the Goddard inquiry.Former residents of the Home have fought to have the remit of Goddard extended and campaigning groups including the Celtic League have also pressed both the N. Ireland Secretary Theresa Villiers and Justice Goddard to include it in the remit.Although the most recent Court decision seems to close that avenue Goddard?s inquiry into events at the Dolphin Street flats in London used by a Westminster ring of high profile politicians operated still leaves the door open for Kincora to be included.Former residents of the home have claimed they were taken from Kincora to Dolphin Street to be abused by senior political figures.Related links: (voir le site) Abuse victims campaign for justice outside Kincora Home dubbed the ?House of Horrors?.BERNARD MOFFATTIssued by: The Manx branch of the Celtic LeagueTEL: 01624 877918 or 07624 49160910/04/16THE CELTIC LEAGUEThe Celtic League established in 1961 has branches in the six Celtic Countries including our own Mannin branch.
