The Celtic League has asked the Irish government if representations have made to the government of Egypt over the detention of two Irish nationals (one of whom is still held) on the Gaza-Egypt border.
The League, Director of Information has asked the Office of the Taoiseach what steps are being taken
"Dear Mr Ahern,
What representations has the Irish government made to the Egyptian authorities over the detention Treasa Ní Cheannabháin from Barna, Co Galway, and her daughter, medical student Naisrin Elsafty?
Also what steps is the government taking to assist Treasa Ní Cheannabháin whose detention is continuing (at the time of writing) after her daughters release?"
