The Celtic League General Secretary, Rhisiart Tal-e-bot, has written a joint letter to Ieuan Wyn Jones and Alex Salmond congratulating both Nationalist leaders on their success in winning media political awards (see below).
"Dear Ieuan Wyn Jones and Alex Salmond
I would like to congratulate you both, on behalf of the Celtic League, in being awarded top awards by the media, in recognition of your work as politicians. You both thoroughly deserve the recognition that the awards highlighted.
Even though you, Mr Alex Salmond, were voted the third most inspiring political figure over the last decade, you were nevertheless the leading individual politician in this poll and consequently the winner to all intents and purposes.
In picking up jointly the BBC Wales Politician of the Year and ITV Wales Politician of the Year Award last month, you, Mr Ieuan Wynn Jones, have shown your detractors that your leadership is not only inspired, but inspiring.
Under a fully devolved media, I am sure that you both would have picked up a stack of other awards too.
The last year has been one of the most interesting for the League in terms of party political developments in Cymru/Wales and Alba/Scotland, in relation to Plaid and the SNP. We wish you and your parties' future successes and look forward to hearing about further successes in the next General Election.
We are always especially delighted to hear about cooperation and links between your parties and we would also like to see this extended to include the other nationalist political parties in the other Celtic countries, especially in Kernow/Cornwall and Breizh/Brittany. I am aware that you currently have some links with these parties through the European Free Alliance (EFA), but am sure there is potential there for strengthening these bonds.
Once again congratulations and continued success throughout 2008.
Yours sincerely
Rhisiart Tal-e-bot"
