The Celtic League AGM registered its disappointment at the decision of the Norwegian government to close its consular facilities in Scotland. The move had been opposed by the Celtic League. The following resolution - moved by the Scottish branch - was adopted:
This AGM:
a) Opposes the Norwegian Government's attempts to close their consulate in Edinburgh
b) Notes that this is extremely bad timing with Scotland progressing towards independence, and that it is opposed by most of the consular staff.
c) Emphasises that Norway is held up as a positive example in Scotland as a successful nation, and that many Norwegians, especially students and oil workers live here.
