NEWS FROM THE CELTIC LEAGUE The British military have evaded answering questions about a soldier accused of rape in the Isle of Man who absconded whilst bailed to British Army custody. The League had written to the Ministry of Defence earlier this month about the case (see link): (voir le site) In the reply from the Army HQ at Andover the military claim it would be a breach of data protection law for them to respond to the query (see below): Dear Mr Moffatt Thank you for your letter of 8 July 2013 to the Secretary of State for Defence. Your letter has been passed to this office and I have been asked to respond. Under the terms of the Data Protection Act, I am unable to discuss information relating to a member of the Army without the individual's written permission. I regret therefore that I am unable to answer your questions in relation to this individual. I am sorry to send what I know will be a disappointing reply. Yours sincerely TA DAVIES
