A village in the north of England last month voted in an ITV poll to become part of Scotland. The village of Berwick-upon-Tweed in Northumberland, which has changed hands 13 times between the two nations, now wants to return to Scotland with 60% of residents voting to change the boarder.
Residents say that if the village was administered by Scotland they would get better financed public services, including free personal health care for the elderly than they currently do in England.
Scottish National Party MSP Christine Grahame lodged a motion in the Scottish Parliament in February calling for the town to "return to the fold", but politicians from Berwick have blocked any plans for Scotland to take Berwick back.
