NEWS FROM THE CELTIC LEAGUE CL AGM: GENERAL SECRETARY MANDATED TO IMPROVE MAXIMISE UN NGO STATUS The Celtic League AGM, held at Karaez in Brittany at the weekend (Oct 26-28th), adopted a resolution tasking the Leagues General Secretary (GS), Rhisiart Tal-e-bot, with facilitating greater involvement of the League with the UN. Following a lengthy process which culminated in 2010 the League was accepted as an accredited Non governmental organisation (NGO) by the International body and in his report the GS said we needed to improve our involvement. It was eventually agreed that where feasible funds would be allocated to ensure that a delegate attended relevant sessions in which the League was invited to participate. The resolution to that effect is set out below: This AGM reiterates the importance of gaining the United Nations consultative status for the Celtic League and that the League must ensure that it maximises this status and be active in submitting comments to the UN on issues, extending to attending sessions in Geneva, if feasible.
